New York Yankees news: Ticket prices soar for Dodgers World Series bout

MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: If you consider the new baseball season to begin right after the World Series ends, this season began with Brian Cashman giving one of the most bizarre interviews of his career. Fast forward to just under a year later, and the Yankees find themselves back in the World Series. It took a lot of soul-searching, data-driven answer-gathering, and exactly one (1) Juan Soto, but the Yankees pulled through after their most embarrassing seasons in recent memory. Now Aaron Judge has his chance to exact revenge on the Dodger Stadium wall that caused his toe injury last year.

ABC News | Ronald Blum: Two important keys to the success this team has found so far this year are their relative health and their bond as a team. Aaron Boone has mentioned repeatedly how close this team is and how much they play for one another and that sentiment has been echoed in many interviews by the players. In addition to how much this team cares for each other, Boone credited how they’re as “complete” a team as they have been around this time of the year, actually getting key players back instead of seeing them drop and punch their ticket for the Injured List, or the Fell Classic.

New York Post | Matt Levy: What should come as no surprise to anyone, tickets for the World Series matchup between these two heavyweight contenders are not cheap. The cheapest seats in LA are going for just over $1000 on the secondary market, while the ones in the Bronx are just a hair under that, but those don’t even come with a seat. The two biggest markets, the teams with the best records, the two likely MVPs, it doesn’t get any bigger than this.

MLB.com | Paul Casella: Unfortunately for us fans, we have to wait until Friday for the Series to begin. Until that time when our tensions and stress will be at an all-time high, we can look back at some of the past World Series matchups between these two juggernauts. While the Yankees hold the historical advantage eight to three, the Dodgers won their most recent matchup, though that was over 40 years ago in 1981 after the Yankees let a 2-0 series lead go by the wayside.

ESPN | Jorge Castillo: While we’re still a few days away from getting an official World Series roster from either team, it does look like Nestor Cortes will be making his return from an elbow injury when the showdown begins. Aaron Boone says it will depend on how he comes out after a bullpen session today, but also called it “a good chance” that Cortes will find himself on the roster and an option for Aaron Boone out of the bullpen. It remains to be seen whose spot he will take, but the likeliest candidates are either Marcus Stroman, who hasn’t pitched yet this postseason, or Mark Leiter Jr., who was the first man up after Ian Hamilton went down.
