Last week was one to remember, not only for Casino.org but for the entire global gaming industry, as two adventure-seekers and risk-takers took on the seemingly unfathomable task of trying to visit and gamble inside more casinos in a single day than any person in the history of the world had done so before.

On Thursday, Sept. 25, Joel Strasser and Garrett Smith, of Season 35 “The Amazing Race” fame, where they placed second, began their historic journey at the Railroad Pass Hotel & Casino in Henderson. Of the following 24 hours, Strasser and Smith managed to gamble inside 115 different casinos to shatter the previous record of 74 casinos within 24 hours, a mark that had stood since October 2017.

“We were saying all along we were going to break the record — it was just a matter of by how much,” said Strasser. “We wanted to set the bar as high as possible, so we just kept going.”

Strasser and Smith’s 115 casinos set the new Guinness World Record for the “Most Casinos Visited in 24 Hours.”

Guinness Rules Changed

The Guinness World Records requires that a person trying to break the “Most Casinos Visited” benchmark gamble on a table game for the property to count. Gambling on a slot machine or any other form of gambling does not.

The attempter must additionally gain a signature from a casino employee saying they played the table game. The GWR also asks for other confirmation evidence, with photos, videos, and betting slips welcomed.

However, because there are fewer casinos with table games post-COVID-19, Guinness recently amended their “Most Casinos Visited” rules.

There are fewer casinos in Las Vegas than the last time this was attempted and successfully done, which means it’s maybe impossible to break. So, we’ve loosened [the rules] a little,” explained Guinness World Records Official Adjudicator Michael Empric.

Strasser and Smith were prepared for the many GWR stipulations.

“I expect their evidence is going to be pretty well put together, but it needs to be catalogued so that I can sit down and say, ‘Let’s see, casino number 25, I want a picture from there, a betting slip from there,’ to make sure it all checks out,” Empric explained.

Record Set

Roughly an hour after Strasser and Smith concluded their 24 hours across Southern Nevada on e-bikes, as the use of a vehicle or rideshare is prohibited, Emperic confirmed inside Circa Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas that all 115 casinos visited and gambled in by Strasser and Smith had been validated.

With as much time and work we put into this, I don’t see how anybody can break it,” said Smith.

The Guinness World Records certificate reads:

“The most casinos visited in 24 hours was achieved by Casino.org, Joel Strasser, and Garrett Smith (all USA) in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, from 25-26 September 2025.”
