- French fashion house’s largest US store is in Strip casino hotel
- Adds to Fontainebleau’s extensive collection of posh retailers
Fans of tony European fashion brands might readily assume that Saint Laurent, also known as YSL, would pick Bal Harbor in Miami, New York City or Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, Calif. as the site of its largest store in the US.

Reasonable assumptions to be sure, but the reality is the largest YSL store in the states is located in the Fontainebleau Las Vegas. Designed by Anthony Vaccarello, the store opened earlier this year and is one of four YSL locations in Las Vegas. A feather in Fontainebleau’s retail cap is that its YSL location is the biggest in the US, making it larger than the fashion house’s stores in Caesars Palace and Wynn Las Vegas.
(Fontainebleau’s YSL) store features concrete and Cipolino marble floors and custom carpets, while the walls are a combination of rough cast render, corduroy concrete, marble, black intumescent paint, mirror and wood,” according to a statement issued by the operator of the integrated resort.
Fontainebleau Las Vegas is a partnership between the Koch brothers and Florida real estate developer Jeffrey Soffer. The $3.7 billion venue opened in December 2023. The YSL store at the property features both men’s and women’s clothing.
Fontainebleau Features Expansive Retail Collection
Even before the casino hotel opened, it was widely expected Fontainebleau Las Vegas would feature an array of high-end retailers and the property has lived up to that billing.
In addition to the aforementioned YSL store, the gaming venue’s retail collection includes Boucheron, Bottega Veneta, Cartier, Graff, Gucci, Missoni, Ora, and Zimmermann, among others. That retail roster is a source of allure for the affluent customers gaming operators covet. The Fontainebleau Retail Collection has room for more than 30 stores and as it’s currently comprised, it’s one of the more palatial lineups of retailers anywhere on the Strip.
Retail stores are also moneymakers and revenue diversifiers for operators like Fontainebleau. While the gaming companies don’t get percentages of the retailers’ revenue or profits, the stores pay steady rent to the gaming companies for the privilege of using their space.
Retail space in a Strip casino is among the most expensive in the country and by some estimates ranges from $1 to $5 per square foot per month and there are some examples of some of the most prime Strip casino retail space exceeding $74 per square annually.
Fontainebleau Tidbits
The 67-story Fontainebleau has 3,644 guestrooms and suites and its gaming floor measures an impressive 155,000 square feet, putting it in the top four among Strip casinos as measured by square footage. Fontainebleau is the only non-MGM venue in that quartet.
The integrated resorts also has 550,000 square feet of convention space and its Oasis Pool Deck features seven pools, including one with 2,300 square feet of gaming space.
