The spirit of Wimbledon comes to Brooklyn Bridge Park

New Yorkers can experience the thrill of Wimbledon in full floral fashion at Brooklyn Bridge Park this July. “The Hill in New York” returns from Friday, July 11 to Sunday, July 13, offering a chance to watch the tennis tournament in an English garden–inspired setting, with the Brooklyn Bridge and NYC skyline as iconic backdrops. Presented by the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club and Brooklyn Bridge Park, the event kicks off on July 11 with a free opening concert by Rita Ora, followed by screenings of the ladies’ singles and gentlemen’s doubles finals on July 12, and the ladies’ doubles and gentlemen’s singles finals on July 13. Admission is free via an online ballot, which is open through July 1.

The celebrations and screenings will take place on the lawn at Empire Fulton Ferry, with live broadcasts of the matches from Centre Court shown on a big screen. Doors open at 6 p.m. for Rita Ora’s opening concert. Screenings of the ladies’ and gentlemen’s singles and doubles matches will take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 12 and 13.

Once the live broadcasts conclude, sunset screenings will feature classic matches between tennis greats.

“As someone who has had the privilege to experience the magic of the Wimbledon finals first hand, I am thrilled to help bring that one-of-a-kind energy of The Championships to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge Park in New York,” Ora said in a press release. “It’s going to be an incredible celebration of world-class tennis from across the pond. Get ready for some HEAT!”

Carlos Alcaraz of Spain returns as the defending men’s singles champion, while Barbora Krejčíková of the Czech Republic holds the women’s singles title. In doubles, Harri Heliövaara of Finland and Henry Patten of Great Britain are the reigning men’s champions, and Kateřina Siniaková of the Czech Republic and Taylor Townsend of the United States are the defending women’s champions.

British-inspired concessions will be on sale, including classic Wimbledon specialties like strawberries and cream, British scones, and more. There will also be alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase, as well as official Wimbledon merchandise.

The events will also feature interactive experiences from the tournament’s partners, including American Express, Lanson Champagne, Lavazza Coffee, Babolat, and Court 16.

Entry to the event is located on the south side of Empire Fulton Ferry Lawn, near New Dock Street. Entry is first-come, first-served, and all attendees must sign up upon arrival.

For a chance to attend The Hill in New York, fans must enter the online ballot by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1. Winners will be randomly selected and notified on Tuesday, July 8. A limited number of walk-up spots will also be available.
