It highlights how the skiing community came together to save a small mountain and the people from around the globe who generously opened their wallets and hearts to revive a cherished local ski hill.

Hickory rises 1,200-feet from the banks of the Hudson River and stirring views of the river are possible from most of the upper mountain. About 5 to 10 minutes off Interstate 87, less than an hour north of Albany, the mountain is only open on weekends (conditions permitting) and is home to an excellent mix of family and expert skiing.

Its long glades and gentle learning terrain are a tremendous draw as its laid back atmosphere and community-run ambiance.

Founded in the 1946 by veterans of the 10th Mountain Division, Hickory was for many years a ski hill mainly visited by corporate ski clubs in the Albany area and Warrensburg locals. It was (and still is) run by a board of locals committed to keeping this piece of ski history alive. Hickory closed for a number of years in the mid 2000s before returning to life in the past year.

The film celebrates the resilience of a family-run ski center that refused to give up and the power of a single viral social media post that captured the hearts of skiers everywhere. You can watch the trailer here.

The first screening will take place at The Strand Theatre in Hudson Falls, NY, on January 30th at 7 pm. Tickets are $10, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Hickory Ski Center.

Tickets are on sale now here. A casual reception will follow the premiere.
