Recent Wildfires in Chemung, Chenango, Orange, Saratoga, and Washington Counties

Between March 14 and 31, Forest Rangers responded to wildland fires in five counties across New York State, including Chemung, Chenango, Orange, Saratoga, and Washington Counties. The fires burned 23 acres of land.
The largest fire was in Catlin, Chemung County, measuring eight acres. This fire started on March 24 and was declared out the following day.
Two of the five fires were caused by debris burning. One fire, in Greenfield, Saratoga County, was caused by downed powerline.
