Protecting the Land That Protects Lake George

On a visit to the Adirondacks in 1791, Thomas Jefferson remarked, “Lake George is without comparison, the most beautiful water I ever saw; formed by a contour of mountains into a basin… finely interspersed with islands, its water limpid as crystal, and the mountain sides covered with rich groves…”
This episode of the ADK Talks podcast explores the connection between the quality of the water in Lake George and the preservation of its surrounding land. Sarah Hoffman from the Lake George Land Conservancy (LGLC), sheds light on the ripple effect of land conservation on this iconic lake, the Queen of American Lakes.
