Pinterest Pays Tribute to Influential Black Creators for Black History Month
Pinterest has announced a new campaign in honor of Black History Month, which pays tribute to the impact of Black fashion creators.
Called “Tailored”, the new campaign aims to highlight how Black creators have changed the broader fashion industry.
The campaign also looks to underline how Pinterest has played a part in empowering creatives.
As explained by Pinterest:
“Since its inception, Pinterest has served as a prime destination for tailoring your taste and curating inspiration from creatives around the world. This February, Pinterest aims to showcase how Black fashion forms legacies, inviting everyone to embark on their own style journey on the platform.”
As part of the campaign, fashion editor and stylist Ronald Burton III shares his thoughts on key fashion trends and shifts, “illustrating how Black style is both generational and transformative.”
In addition to the video overview, Pinterest will also showcase Black creators and figures in the app throughout the month, highlighting various ways in which they add their personal flair to their outfits.
The campaign will also get top billing on the Pinterest Shop profile, where Pinterest will also focus on influential Black-owned brands for people to discover in the app.
It’s a good way for Pinterest to honor the history of Black creators, and showcase the role that they’ve played in broader fashion trends, while also highlighting up-coming brands and designers in the app.
And with Pinterest playing a key role in product discovery for many users, it could introduce a lot more people to these creators.
Pinterest will highlight Black creators throughout the month.
