Pinterest Highlights its Improving Ad Options

Amid a wave of uncertainty among social media marketers as to where they should be focusing their efforts in 2025, Pinterest is also throwing its hat into the ring, as part of a new pitch to lure more ad dollars to its app.

This week, Pinterest has launched a new mini-site which highlights the benefits of its evolving ad tools, and how brands can use them to advantage.

There’s also a range of stats on Pinterest users, and their propensity to shop, among other points:

And interestingly, Pinterest has also highlighted its popularity among Gen Z as a strong point:

Younger users have traditionally been a challenge for Pinterest, but in recent times, the platform’s demographic has been shifting, and as you can see, it’s now seeing more growth and engagement among this audience subset.

In order to win over new marketing partners, Pinterest is offering direct support, while it’s also offering “bonus media” to selected brands. The specifics of its bonus offerings are brand-relative, but it has been offering a percentage match deal for advertisers that increase their Pin ads investment before January 22nd.

Its bonus program will offer similar, though again, he details will be specific to each brand, and relative ad spend.

So, should you be considering Pinterest?

Well, definitely, as Pinterest notes, it does have a shopping-ready audience, and it continues to add new users every quarter. Indeed, the platform is now up to a new record high of 537 million monthly actives, after adding 39 million more users throughout 2024.

So while it may not get the attention of the larger apps, Pinterest is seeing a lot of usage, with a lot of users who are coming to the app to find specific products and offers.

That could be relevant to your brand and promotions. And with uncertainty around TikTok, and a level of backlash to changes at X and Meta’s apps, maybe now is the time to consider your options, and try out Pinterest’s evolving ad tools.
