Samsung’s One UI 7 update, which is currently in beta, is bringing a new feature that allows users to disable HDR content system-wide on their Galaxy devices. If you’ve ever been flashed by a sudden burst of overly bright HDR content on Instagram or YouTube, this option will surely come in handy.
Samsung has added the Super HDR toggle inside the Advanced features section in the Settings app. When disabled, it prevents the display from automatically adjusting to show the full range of colors and contrast in HDR content, keeping screen brightness consistent across all applications.

Moreover, Samsung’s Super HDR is using Google Ultra HDR format, which means that switching Super HDR off will work for third-party apps and content shot on other Android devices and not just Samsung Galaxies.
One UI 7 is currently in its second beta for the Galaxy S24 series and is expected to roll out to more devices in 2025.
