nubia Focus 2 5G leaks through certification, shows a new design
Here we go again – ZTE publishes certification documents on its site, even for phones it is yet to officially unveil. The latest model to break cover is the nubia Focus 2 5G (model number Z2462N).
The original Focus launched earlier this year and it was an interesting device – a cheap phone with a 108MP camera and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging. There was a Focus Pro model that bumped up the screen from 6.56” HD+ to 6.72” FHD+ (IPS LCD in both cases), added OIS to the 108MP camera and included a 5MP ultra-wide.
We don’t know much about the Focus 2, but the EU Declaration of Conformity includes a low-res photo of the device. There appear to be three lenses, though the JPEG compression makes it hard to tell. The original model had only two lenses (the 108MP cam and a 2MP helper), so this one might have an ultra-wide.
We also found a Wi-Fi certification (PDF), which lists the OS as “Android V” (that’s Vanilla Ice Cream, aka Android 15) and shows 2.4GHz and 5GHz support for Wi-Fi 5 (ac). The Bluetooth certification doesn’t add much.
The nubia Focus 2 5G will have next-gen connectivity, of course, the original Focus also had 5G. However, from previous leaks it seems that ZTE is working on a 4G Focus 2 as well. The company might skip the “Pro” model this year and let the 5G model act as the higher tier.
