New Exhibit on the American Revolution in the Hudson Highlands

The American Revolution in the Hudson Highlands Part OneThe American Revolution in the Hudson Highlands Part OneThe Putnam History Museum’s latest exhibition, “The American Revolution in the Hudson Highlands: Part One,” brings the contested Hudson Valley region to life during the American Revolution.

Artifacts, historical documents and reproductions will help visitors explore local stories that helped shape the founding of the United States and offers a fresh perspective on how the Hudson Highlands played a critical role in America’s fight for independence.

In celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution, this exhibit is the first installment of a two-part series at Putnam History Museum.

Part One highlights events from the earliest sparks of rebellion through approximately 1779. Part Two will be unveiled in 2026 completing the story of the region’s vital contributions to American history.

An opening reception for the exhibit will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 5 pm. Attendance is free and open to all, but registration is requested.
