Meghan Markle’s biographer Omid Scobie ‘makes permanent LA move’ after selling royal TV show to Universal TV: report

Meghan Markle’s longtime biographer, Omid Scobie, has made a permanent move to Los Angeles in search of the “Hollywood dream,” according to a report.

Scobie’s latest business venture — a book and TV project titled “Royal Spin” — has been sold to Universal TV for a series development, the Daily Mail reports.

As a result, the royal guru has made the trans-Atlantic move to sunny California, leaving the UK behind — just like Markle did in 2020.

“Omid already had a gig as a regular talking head on ‘Good Morning America’ but he’s ambitious and always dreamed of having a Hollywood career,” a source told the outlet.

“He went out to LA to take meetings. He took a lot of meetings.”

Scobie reportedly stayed at a rental home in the Hollywood Hills while talks with execs were taking place. After inking a deal, the biographer decided to make a permanent move, insiders told the outlet.

Sources claim Scobie, who previously released the controversial book “Endgame,” is looking to stay in LA for a minimum of three to five years.

While the main plot line is yet to be revealed, the project will center around an American publicist who leaves her high-powered role in Washington, DC, to join the communications department at Buckingham Palace.

According to an insider at Universal, which reportedly handed over a seven-figure sum in exchange for the rights to the show, the series is “‘Emily in Paris’ meets ‘The Crown.’”

“Let’s just say the plot isn’t a million miles away from Meghan’s account of what happened to her when she joined the royal family, just substitute publicist for actress,” a source told the outlet.

“You have this plucky woman who enters the palace and comes up against the men in grey suits who are stuck in Victorian times.”

“The heroine is a thoroughly modern woman, a feminist, much like Meghan sees herself, yet she is stymied at every turn by stuffy royal aides,” the insider went on.

“She gets stuck in the middle of culture clashes and finds herself very much a fish out of water.”

After reports of Scobie moving to LA made rounds on social media, the royal guru set the record straight on his upcoming project and its rumored ties to the Duchess of Sussex.

“Just because it’s a catchy headline doesn’t make it true. So let’s make this clear: Royal Spin’s story and characters have nothing to do with Meghan,” he wrote on X, referring to the “Suits” alum, 43.

“As a journalist, I covered the Duchess fairly, but it’s so boring to keep calling her my friend (not true) or link her to my work.”

The Post has reached out to Markle’s reps for comment.
