The capture of Fort Ticonderoga, an important strategic location during the American Revolutionary War, occurred on May 10, 1775, when a small American force, including Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold, surprised and overpowered the British garrison. This event was significant because it secured a key passageway north and provided the American forces with valuable artillery that was later used in the Siege of Boston.
