Latest on Kawhi Leonard and Ivica Zubac’s availability for game vs Celtics (Jan. 22)
The LA Clippers are set to cross swords against the defending champion Boston Celtics in what promises to be an electrifying basketball showdown. Both teams have recorded 24 wins this season, though the Clippers have suffered one additional loss (18) compared to the Eastern Conference powerhouse.
Coach Ty Lue will be without two key starters, Kawhi Leonard and Ivica Zubac, as both players have been ruled out for the game. Leonard is sidelined for right knee injury management, while Zubac is dealing with a left eye corneal abrasion. Both players also missed the Clippers’ 112-99 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Monday.
Additionally, there are uncertainties regarding the availability of other key contributors, including James Harden, as four players are listed as “questionable” on the injury report.

Harden is managing right groin soreness but did play against the Bulls. Norman Powell, who is dealing with back soreness, also participated in the previous game.
Kris Dunn, battling left knee soreness, started against Chicago but was limited to just 15 minutes. Meanwhile, Nicolas Batum, struggling with right finger soreness, came off the bench for 18 minutes in the same game.
Amid the team’s ongoing injury concerns, James Harden voiced his frustration with the Clippers’ grueling schedule following their loss to the Bulls.
“And then you’re adding games two weeks prior, a week prior…that’s the frustrating part. And I don’t really like to complain,” Harden said.
