Historic Eastfield Village’s 10th Annual Founder’s Day Open House

One of New York State most unique historical events this year, the 10th Annual Founder’s Day Open House at Historic Eastfield Village in Rensselaer County, will take place on September 20, 2025.
The public can explore over 20 historic structures Carpentier collected and preserved throughout his lifetime, enjoy period entertainment and learn from a wide range of historic trades and crafts demonstrators as they keep traditional pre-industrial skills alive.
Attractions and Entertainment
Guests can tour over 20 historic structures from 1789-1840 at their own pace or join a guided timber-framing tour. There will historic entertainment, including puppet shows by the “Punchbowl Sisters,” Period dancing in the Briggs Tavern Ballroom, and a performance by a 19th-century magician.
Trades Demonstrations
There will be a wide range of historic trades and crafts, from blacksmithing and cabinetmaking to printmaking, spinning, and flintlock gunsmithing and more. You can watch live demonstrations, interact with the tradespeople, and even shop their unique handcrafted wares.
Shopping, Food, and Drink
In addition to the day’s events, you can shop for antiques and hand-crafted wares from the demonstrating tradespeople and other artisans. When you get hungry, enjoy a hearty lunch prepared in the historic hearth kitchen in Briggs Tavern, or stop by for tea and sweets.

Admission is $20 (pre-purchase), $25 at the gate. Children 12 and under are free.
