Chamber Music to Benefit Lake George Battlefield Park

The Lake George Battlefield Park Alliance, in the midst of an unprecedented set of projects at its historic property with repairs underway to the site’s classic bronze sculptures and preparations continue for the 2026 reinterment of the remains of 44 soldiers who died at Lake George in 1776, will be the beneficiary of a special evening of chamber music presented by the Lake George Music Festival on Tuesday, June 17, beginning at 7 pm.
The “Lake George Battlefield Park Alliance Night,” held at the Carriage House on the grounds of the Fort William Henry Hotel, is part of the Festival’s new Community Partnership Program. so 50% of all single ticket sales from the evening will directly support the Lake George Battlefield Park Alliance in programs to preserve and promote its national landmark.
The evening will feature works by Schubert, Florence Price, Rimsky-Korsakov, and a featured composition by guest composer Amy Beth Kirsten:
• Franz Schubert – Shepherd on the Rock
• Florence Price – String Quartet in G Major
• Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov – Quintet for Piano and Winds in B-flat Major
• Amy Beth Kirsten – World Under Glass No. 2

The Lake George Battlefield Park Alliance is a not-for-profit organization of volunteers who have an abiding interest in the Lake George Region’s critical role in the French and Indian War and the American Revolution. The Alliance manages the Battlefield Park’s Visitor Center and sponsors events throughout the year that educate the public about the site and its unique history.
It is also working closely with the Town of Lake George and State of New York on the “Repose of the Fallen” project, which will reinter in 2026 the remains of 44 Continental Army soldiers and support personnel in the Battlefield Park.
The Lake George Music Festival is one of the nation’s foremost classical music artist retreats and offers performers and audiences alike the unique opportunity to experience exceptional classical music within a historic and picturesque setting.
The festival features two weeks of chamber music and orchestral concerts curated by Artistic Directors Barbora Kolarova and Roger Kalia, highlighting new compositions and traditional masterworks performed by a roster of established professionals and emerging artists in the historic Carriage House at the Fort William Henry Hotel.
