Cayuga Museum Seeking Objects, Stories for Korean War Exhibit

The Cayuga Museum of History and Art in Auburn, NY is working on a new exhibit commemorating the Korean War, which began 75 years ago on June 25, 1950.
The Museum is actively collecting the stories, objects and documents that tell the story of the Korean War through the experience of Cayuga County residents.
Over one thousand men and women from Cayuga County answered the call to serve in the Korean War, and 25 gave their lives.
The exhibit is expected to focus on the war years through the stories of those who served and those at home. The exhibition will be the lead exhibit at the Cayuga Museum from May 31 through September 13, 2025. Programming to accompany the exhibit includes film screenings, lectures, and more.
If you, or your family, have any objects, photos, and stories relating to the Korean War and Cayuga County, consider sharing them with the Museum and the thousands of visitors who will see the exhibit.
The Museum will be collecting items recollecting Cayuga County’s role in the Korean War until Friday, March 21st at 4 pm.
All loaned items will be secured, covered under the Museum’s insurance policy, and returned at the end of the exhibition.
Please call Karyn at the Cayuga Museum at 315-253-8051 or email at karyn@cayugamuseum.org to share the information and loaned objects.
