Adirondack Climate Conference Set for March 6, 2025
The Wild Center, in partnership with Paul Smith’s College and the Adirondack Research Consortium, is planning to host the Adirondack Climate Conference on March 6, 2025, from 9:30 am until 5:30 pm, bringing together community members, regional leaders, students and others to address climate challenges and possible opportunities in Northern New York.
This full-day conference at The Wild Center in Tupper Lake is expected to be a platform for sharing stories of resilience, preparedness, and adaptation in local communities.
Attendees can collaborate on solutions to strengthen local infrastructure, protect biodiversity, and foster sustainable businesses and workforce development, ensuring the North Country remains a vibrant place to live, work, and play.
Session topics include extreme weather and emergency preparedness, NYS resources for building community and energy resilience, and climate and public health.
Keynote talks will be live-streamed at wildcenter.org/live for those unable to attend in person.

Connect with ACORN: The Adirondack Climate Outreach and Resilience Network is a collaboration between The Wild Center, Paul Smith’s College’s Adirondack Watershed Institute, and the Adirondack Research Consortium, made possible through funding from NYSERDA and the Adirondack Foundation. Learn about ACORN’s efforts to enhance climate resilience through community engagement, scientific research, and adaptive strategies.
Learn about Regional Community Resilience Action: Learn from local, state, and tribal leaders and scientists as they share insights on extreme weather preparedness, clean energy, climate-driven public health concerns, and economic development opportunities.
Speakers include: Mayor Alexandra Jacobs Wilke of the Village of Potsdam, Economic Development Marketing & Events Manager Christine Pouch for the Town of Indian Lake, Environment Division Director Tony David of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe, climate scientist Dr. Curt Stager of Paul Smith’s College, and NYSERDA’s Amanda Stevens.
Contribute to Solutions: Through panels, workshops, and discussions, attendees will engage with experts across science, engineering, public health, emergency response, clean energy, workforce development, and community planning.
Collaborate Across the Region: The conference fosters collaboration between government agencies, local organizations, businesses, students, and engaged community members, strengthening partnerships and action on climate resilience.
Registration for the Adirondack Climate Conference is open to the public at $45 per adult and $15 per student (high school or college), with student scholarships available. Tickets are limited and can be purchased online.
The Adirondack Climate Conference is presented by ADK Solar, partner organizations, other event sponsors, with foundational support from NYSERDA and the Adirondack Foundation in the creation of the Adirondack Climate Outreach and Resilience Network (ACORN).
