Steve Carell partnering with Alice’s Kids

Attention, attention all seniors! This is Steve Carell with a very special announcement. I work with a wonderful charity based out of Virginia called Alice’s Kids. And Alice’s Kids wanted me to let you know that they will be paying for all your prom tickets. And if you have already paid for your prom tickets, they will reimburse you for your prom tickets. It’s a pretty good deal. Have fun, enjoy the prom, and remember—this is Steve Carell. Take it easy, guys.

Now, if you’ve come this far or seen his funny Instagram clip, the irony is not lost on youwe hope we don’t have another Scott’s Tots situation on our hands, am I right?! But aside from how heartfelt this ironic spirit-lifting video is, let us share more about the amazing nonprofit Carell partnered with.

The Power of Generous Gestures: Alice’s Kids

Behind this generous gesture is Alice’s Kids, a Virginia-based nonprofit dedicated to quietly uplifting children facing economic hardships. The organization’s unique and dignified approach provides discreet assistance to prevent any shame that might accompany a child’s financial struggles. They extend a helping hand for various needs, whether it’s a prom ticket, field trip fees, summer camp enrollments, or even back-to-school clothes.

These contributions might seem small, but we know the impact on a young person’s self-esteem and emotional well-being is important. Alice’s Kids operates on a simple belief: Every child deserves to feel normal, included, and carefree, especially when their families navigate financial hardships. Covering costs that might otherwise lead to exclusion ensures that children can participate fully in pivotal childhood experiences without burden or stigma. Teachers can apply for assistance through Alice’s Kids too!

Prom will be a night to remember.

This initiative and donation by Steve Carell and Alice’s Kids not only brings a night of joy and one less burden for these high school seniors, it also highlights the importance of community support in times of crisis. Heroism can come in many forms—sometimes, it’s in the smile of a senior who can dance the night away without a worry, thanks to a thoughtful gesture by a beloved actor and a compassionate organization. As Altadena rebuilds, their community will remember this act of kindness—a prom night made possible by Steve Carell (without any laptop batteries, either!)
