Samsung starts rolling out One UI 6 to older Galaxy Watches
Samsung is bringing the One UI 6 update (based on Wear OS 5) to older watches, after showcasing what the new OS can do with the new Galaxy Watch7 and Watch Ultra. The new version brings an updated UI, plus new health tracking features like Sleep Apnea detection and new exercise modes to boot.
First things first, here are the watch models that are eligible for an upgrade. The rollout will start today with the Watch6 series and will expand to older models.
The Sleep Apnea detection feature has received De Novo authorization from the FDA. Additionally, the sleep metrics are now tracked by an AI algorithm that looks at your movement during sleep, sleep latency, heart and respiratory rates. The watches will calculate an Energy Score based on sleep, activity and more.
For exercise, you can enable the Race mode for running and cycling, which lets you compare your current performance against past ones. You can also build a personal Workout Routine.

The UI brings new watch faces from simple, minimalist ones like the Simple Digital watch face to ones rich in stats like the Info Board. AI will also suggest replies to incoming messages to save on typing/voice dictation.
When connected to a Galaxy smartphone, the watch will be able to answer calls, dismiss alarms, take photos and more by using Double Pinch Gestures.
