On the latest episode of the Crossroads of Rockland County podcast, Rockland County Historian Craig Long and two members of the Tappantown Historical Society, Carol LaValle and Larry Vail, talk about the upcoming Historic Homes and Landmarks Tour in Tappan on October 4, 2025.
In 1965, the Orangetown Town Board adopted the map outlining the Tappan Historic District. This tour will be a commemoration of this important milestone. The Historical Society of Rockland County will present this Historic Homes & Landmarks Tour of Tappan in partnership with the Tappantown Historical Society.
It will be a self-guided walking tour on which a number of houses and other significant buildings within the Tappan Historic Area will be open to the public. The tour both promotes this Orangetown community and its historic importance to Rockland County.
