New Keeseville Waterfront Park Opens June 4th

Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH) and the Town of Ausable, New York will hold a ribbon cutting and opening of the new Keeseville Waterfront Park on Ausable Street at 10 am on June 4th.
Following years of planning, preparation, fundraising, and construction, AARCH is gifting the Keeseville Waterfront Park to the Town of Ausable for public use. The Park sits on the Ausable River site of the former Prescott Rolling and Slitting Mill (also known as the Red Mill), once a centerpiece of the community’s iron industry. It had been vacant for years prior to AARCH’s acquisition of the site in 2018.
The park includes a playground and picnic area as well as pedestrian walkway and interpretive signage from the Anderson Falls Heritage Society.
The Keeseville Waterfront Park will officially open to the public upon the property’s transfer from AARCH to the Town of Ausable. You can read more about the project on AARCH’s blog.
Ribbon cutting will include representatives of AARCH, the Town of Ausable, project funders, and second grade students from Keeseville Elementary School. Light refreshments will be provided by Stewart’s.
Adirondack Architectural Heritage is the nonprofit historic preservation organization for the Adirondack region with a mission to promote better public understanding, appreciation, and stewardship of the region’s architecture and communities. Learn more at their website.
