New OnePlus phone coming with 6.83″ screen, Dimensity 9400+ chipset

OnePlus is currently working on a new upper-midrange phone with a flagship chipset – a ‘flagship killer’, if you will. It’s still unclear what this will be called, but the two options seem to be Ace 5V or Ace 5S. Either way it’s going to be the successor to the Ace 3V which came out in March of last year.
The new device is rumored to have a 6.83-inch “1.5K” LTPS OLED flat screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and it will be powered by MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9400+ SoC. Its main camera will be a 50 MP snapper, and it won’t have a telephoto on its back.

The device’s rear will have a “simple design”, whatever that means, and it will ship with OnePlus’ new button that’s replacing the Alert Slider. Battery capacity is still not finalized, but it could be 7,500 mAh with 80W wired charging, or around 7,000 mAh with 100W charging support. Presumably, OnePlus is yet to decide whether it should prioritize faster charging or a bigger battery.
It’s unclear when the handset will become official, but we assume it can’t take more than a few weeks from this point, especially seeing as how its predecessor is fast approaching its one-year anniversary.
