Band Plots Trek With Gaslight Anthem

The Counting Crows have announced a massive world tour in support of their upcoming first album in over a decade, Butter Miracle, the Complete Sweets!

The trek kicks off June 10 at the Pinnacle in Nashville and wraps Aug. 23 at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Englewood, Colorado. During the tour, the Counting Crows will play a mix of headlining shows and festival dates, with the Gaslight Anthem providing support during most of the headlining gigs. (A U.K. and European run will follow in the fall.)

Tickets for the tour will go on sale March 14 at 10 a.m. local time. An artist presale begins March 11 at 10 a.m. local time, with full information on the Counting Crows’ website

Counting Crows are set to release Butter Miracle, the Complete Sweets! on May 9. The album marks the group’s first proper full-length since 2014’s Somewhere Under Wonderland, though they teased their return in 2021 with the EP Butter Miracle, Suite One

Speaking with Rolling Stone around the release of Suite One, Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz explained that the project began with a surge of creativity following a five-year break from songwriting. A stable relationship, a change of scenery from New York City to the English countryside, and a decision to shave off his dreadlocks and beard helped fuel the sessions, during which Duritz found himself writing a series of songs that all flowed into each other.

“I’ve been quite happy,” he said at the time. “I’ve been in a relationship for four or five years now — one that is very satisfying, and healthy. Most of my experiences in my life had been what it’s like to be alone and live alone. And that’s not the case anymore. That’s a big change for me, to really come to the idea that maybe something’s more important than writing songs.”
