Rangers get encouraging Brennan Othmann update as season spirals
For the Rangers, there was good news out of Hartford on Sunday.
Brennan Othmann shed the cast he’d been wearing on his wrist/forearm and skated in a non-contact jersey with his Wolf Pack teammates.
It is a positive development for the 21-year-old forward, who went down just three games into the AHL season.
Originally projected to miss 4-6 weeks in October, Othmann was then updated to be on pace for a return around Christmas time.
In the wake of the Rangers’ downward spiral, it’s an opportune time for Othmann to be rejoining the Rangers mix.
Despite having a training camp that was overshadowed by other rookies, Othmann competed in the Rangers’ final exhibition game and was among the last rounds of cuts.
He was battling a nasty cold at the time, which surely hampered his performance.
