The Oklahoma native punctuated a video inviting fans to a string of concerts in Tulsa with 10 shots
Well, that’s one way to fill seats. In a new Instagram video, Zach Bryan waves around a handgun and fires off 10 rounds while asking fans to attend his shows in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this weekend.
“Hey everybody ,come to my shows at the BOK Center tomorrow, the next day, the next day, and the next day,” Bryan says to the camera, punctuating every few words with a pull of the trigger while holding what appears to be a 9mm in a side grip. “Can’t wait to see you there.” At the end of the clip, he corrects his grip on the gun and fires another five shots in quick succession.
Bryan kicked off a string of concerts at the Tulsa arena on Thursday night, playing songs like “Tishomingo,” “Something in the Orange,” “Oklahoma Smokeshow,” and “Pink Skies.” He’s set to perform two more shows at the BOK Center on Friday and Saturday before heading to New York for a pair of gigs at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Dec. 18 and 19.
The Oklahoma songwriter capped off his main set on Thursday night with “Oklahoma Son,” a song that earned raves from Bruce Springsteen in a recent Rolling Stone cover story. “I love that song. ‘You can’t hide where you’re from/With night-crawler blood on your castin’ thumb/You can fight and fiend and sell your guns/But you’ll always be the Oklahoman son,’” Springsteen said. “That’s good! That kind of detail, that night-crawler blood.”
Bryan has been on tour all year in support of his album The Great American Bar Scene (which appears on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Best Albums of 2024). During a concert last week in Portland, Oregon, he was struck by something thrown at him from the audience. “Alright, who threw it?” he asked, stopping the show. “Let’s not be dicks, huh.” Bryan threw the object back in the crowd. Thank God he wasn’t packing onstage.
