As such, Tafel contributed to Wright’s Fallingwater project and other important commissions, as well as 80 custom houses on his own. Tafel met fellow GI Henry Bookstaber when he was stationed in India during World War II. He designed the house as a postwar residence for Bookstaber and his wife, Ingeborg.
